The Honeywell Gent 800171 is a conventional fixed heat detector from the ES Detect range, designed to operate with the Gent Xenex control panel, replacing the earlier Vision 20/20 range. It uses a fast semiconductor sensor to guarantee reliable detection of fires with strong heat generation. The ES Detect automatic detector is a non-addressable detector specifically designed for operation on conventional systems, with algorithms designed for consistent, dependable fire detection.
The detector features decentralized intelligence, automatic function self-test, alarm and operations data storage, and alarm display, with the option to connect a remote indicator for areas where the detector itself isn’t visible. The design offers uniform response sensitivity across different fire types, a large distance between signal and interference magnitudes due to specialized sensor and electronics design that suppresses electromagnetic influences, and automatic adaptation to varying environmental influences, alongside electronic compensation for long-term contamination or aging effects. The ES Detect range is only approved for installation with Xenex control panels, or with Vigilon via interface units.
Technically, the detector draws a typical alarm current of 9 mA at 9V DC, weighs approximately 110g, and measures Ø117mm x H49mm (62mm including base). It carries EN 54-5 A1S approval and is suited to environments requiring reliable fixed-temperature detection rather than rate-of-rise sensing.
Key Features:
- Fixed heat detector for strong/steady heat generation
- Fast semiconductor sensor
- Decentralized intelligence with automatic self-test
- Alarm and operations data storage
- Optional remote indicator connection
- EN 54-5 A1S approved
- Designed for Gent Xenex control panel (or Vigilon via interface)
- Alarm current @ 9V DC: typ. 9mA
- Weight: approx. 110g
- Dimensions: Ø117mm, H49mm (62mm incl. base)
- Compatible bases: 805590 (standard) or 805590-D (with diode)
Ideal Applications:
Kitchens, boiler rooms, garages, and other areas prone to normal heat or steam where smoke detectors would be prone to false alarms, within a conventional Gent Xenex fire alarm system.
