The Honeywell Gent 800371 is a conventional optical smoke detector from the ES Detect range, designed to operate with the Gent Xenex control panel, replacing the earlier Vision 20/20 range. It uses scattered-light (light scatter) sensing technology for reliable early detection of fires, making it particularly effective at identifying slow-burning, smoldering fires that produce significant smoke before flames appear.

The detector features decentralized intelligence, automatic function self-test, automatic environmental adaptation, and alarm and operating data storage with alarm display, with the option to connect a remote indicator for areas where the unit itself isn’t visible. The ES Detect range is only approved for installation with Xenex control panels, or with Vigilon via interface units.
